Three short pieces for violin and piano from a musical (original composition, 2019)
1. Movement 0:00
2. Refugees 1:48
3. Monologue 3:48
These three pieces are from a musical written and performed by my school's theatre class back when I was in school in 2019. The first two pieces are from sections where the actors would act silently while the third piece was performed on repeat quietly during a rather lengthy monologue.
Unfortunately, the live performance and recording is lost so there's only midi audio available for now. There’s also a mistake in the sheet of the second piece (it should be in B minor).

Vivace for piano and string orchestra (original composition)

A short piece I composed back in 2021-2022. It competed in the final of a national composing competition for young composers under 20 in Finland and was performed live twice in late 2022. The midi audio is also pretty bad here since I unfortunately can't use the live recording (watch out for 0:48 and 3:42 with the bugged loud note). The piece itself was practice for orchestral writing and thema...
Improvisation in Eb major (original composition)

I came up with this short piece in a few hours last Saturday when I was supposed to be studying for an upcoming exam. This time I also decided to try to upload a live performance instead of relying on Noteperformer audio. I had some problems recording my digital piano but in the end I decided to go for a VST (Pianoteq 7 is amazing).
Prelude in Db Major (original composition, 2016)

Actually probably in Bb major ... This piece was finished in early April, 2016 about 8 months after I first started composing. If I remember correctly, I was listening to Liszt's Un Sospiro a lot in early 2016. It shouldn't bee too difficult to hear that in the patterns and harmony... There are also some clear compositional issues with the piece. For example the whole right hand is a bit questi...
Concert Etude in C Major (original composition, 2017)

This is an older piece back from 2017 before I had any formal studies in music theory. The notation is a bit incorrect sometimes (such as the b9 in measure 11 that is incorrectly notated as G#) and some of the patterns (there are some annoyingly large and fast jumps) aren't very pianistic and idiomatic at times. The simple triplet pattern in the piece however acts both as a pianistic etude as w...
Violin Sonata in G minor (original composition, 2018)

Now that I have a bit more free time I thought I'd start uploading some of my older pieces. I'm going through my old Musescore files and importing them into Dorico but it's still quite a tedious process cleaning up the scores. This particular piece is from late 2018. I was studying sonata form at the time and this is my first attempt at a complete movement in the form. It does still have a few ...
Romance for Oboe and Piano (original composition)

It seems like NotePerformer doesn't have the greatest oboe playback but it should be manageable. This short piece was composed over the course of a few months but most of the work was done in just two days. The main theme and melody is intentionally completely diatonic, and the piece as a whole can be considered an etude in melodic writing.

String Quartet in D Major (original composition)

Here's a single-movement string quartet I've been working on for way too long. It's loosely inspired by Borodin's second string quartet.

beautiful composition
He was already Liszt at 1:00
11 year old Liszt composed this. It was his first composition.
I want to play it like that so hard now, but my technique is not as good yet...
0:22 why that part sound so good, i can stop hearing it..
Очень приятное произведение 😊❤
I used to listen to Peter Frankle. When l played my father called me Peter Fankle. He was funny.
No puedo explicar con palabras, el éxtasis que me produce escuchar está obra de arte, leyendo al mismo tiempo la partitura
I never tire of these lovely miniatures.

I suspect this inspired "Wanderer of Time" from Final Fantasy VI.

it's so silly i love it
This sounds like something you’d improvise while playing around on your keyboard half asleep at 2AM

楽譜を見ると譜読みしづらい。さすがリスト。歌部分と伴奏を同時に弾き、すべての指を万遍なく酷使する。後半はリストの華やかな名人芸が炸裂。
The opening melodic phrase is likely borrowed from Charles-Marie Widor's Organ Symphony No. 5, opus 42, Andante Cantabile (2nd mvt.), composed in 1879.

Underrated
But who was the conductor? Personally, I did not like the interpretation, but maybe it's only the flat recording, or else it's my computer, not the ideal. Usually I listen to CDs on a stereo system.... Anyway, the music is so amazing. When I first heard the finale conducted by Otto Klemperer (I was about15), I thought it was the personification of the inexorability of destiny, even more than Beethoven's fifth symphony. Beethoven is dramatic, Mozart is tragic and fatal like an ancient Greek tragedy. He ends the symphony in G minor, does not convert to G major as Haydn and Beethoven would have optimistically done. But Mozart soon recovers: in fact this symphony is immediately followed by the glorious and triumphant C major of the Jupiter Symphonie......
2:08 it's like an horror soundtrack from a movie.

Very well done!
I don't even believe in heaven, but this simply gives me the need to put flowers on Schumann's grave.
Liszt's little variation shows a lot of interesting promise. 😅
